Appropriate Dress for Student Workers

You will be interacting with the children on the floor, during messy activities, and in outdoor play. We recommend wearing comfortable, easy-care clothing in the lab.

Remember that we often have visitors, public and University officials, parents and students observing the lab. We want to convey a positive, professional image.

Be sure to wear appropriate outdoor clothing in the cool fall and winter months. You are a model for the children. When you wear your coat, jacket or sweater when it is cold, they will be more cooperative in wearing theirs.

Avoid wearing:	Use discretion when wearing:
High-heeled shoes Silks and other "fine" clothing Short-shorts and mini-skirts	Jeans Shorts Sweats T-shirts
You will also want to:
Take precautions if you have long hair or fingernails. Bring a hair clip/band of some kind with you to use when preparing food for children. Keep nails at a reasonable length for safety and sanitation practices. Avoid dangling jewelry, clothing with loose buttons or other detachable ornaments. Be cautious of eyeglasses since they can also be an easy-to-grab item.

Print and Sign: This completed (signed) form must be submitted in paper form, via mail or in person, to the CDL.
